Quote provided by Jeanette Thomas (rider #30) - Author Unknown
"Life is NOT a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - WOW - What a ride!!"

Why did I do the Big Ride Across America?
Your donations will help ALAW fight lung disease such as asthma, lung cancer, chronic bronchitis and cystic fibrosis, support smoking cessation and education, provide asthma camps for children, and lobby for clean air legislation. I've been an active participant in ALAW bicycle/fundraising events for 20 years, as well as a long-time volunteer. On a personal note, my grandfather passed away from chronic lung disease, and disease was also a contributing factor in my mother's death in November 2003. My ride was dedicated to the two of them.
